I love being in a place that promotes being strong and active, where it's not weird to be strong if you're a girl. I also like that I don't have to make up a workout. It's great to just show up and have the workout there. I love the people and environment here. The coaches are great at knowing what you need to get through a workout and pushing you to do your best. And the members are so encouraging. I think CrossFit draws a certain type of person and those people are awesome!

Before CFLB, I never had any type of workout regimen. Bottom line was I needed to get my ass in shape! And I knew paying $30/month to go to a big-chain gym wouldn't motivate me enough to do it on my own, especially since I had no idea what I was doing. When I came into On-Ramp at CFLB, I didn't know any of the CrossFit movements. Looking back, I see the progress I've made and the results and am amazed. I'm glad that being active is part of my life now. I've seen how large CFLB has grown and I think it's because of the awesome people here. Heck I no longer live in Long Beach, and I still come to CFLB!

The community we have here at CFLB is a huge reason why I continue to come back. So many members of the gym have become more than my friends; they're family. CFLB is nothing like a regular gym. When I went to a regular gym, I couldn't ever stay long. It was so boring. I would search for reasons not to go, and when I did go, I couldn't wait to leave. I never really pushed myself. Now, I actually want to go to CrossFit. I want to see how I can improve my workout from last time, and how I can push myself. It's a great environment. The coaches here are so awesome. They always make sure you are doing your best and doing things right.

I thrive on the camaraderie at CFLB, that extra push everyone gives you. The environment here is great. Since joining I've lost 30 pounds, put on five pounds of muscle, and dropped five pant sizes. I feel really good, stronger and leaner, look younger and healthier. After I had reconstructive surgery on my shoulder, lifting was a strain for me. CFLB coaches did a great job of modifying the lifts to accommodate my injury so I could work on my weaknesses. Now I'm doing the lifts and getting better at them every time.

After sitting around for 10 years and working out at my own pace at my gym, I watched my body start to mature. I felt overweight and out of shape, and figured I'd have to pay a trainer $100 per session to get the results I wanted. Then I found CFLB, and it sounded like a good alternative to personal training. CFLB offers a great price point, plus the variety and competitive atmosphere to keep me motivated and interested. Every small accomplishment keeps me going and makes me try harder. Thanks for all the support during the Summer Leaning challenge. There is no way I would have stuck to it without all the help!!!! Experiencing the attitudes of yourself and all of the other women at the gym towards strength/muscle and being healthy as opposed to being a size zero has helped me tremendously in changing my own conception of what my ideal body should be. It's amazing how many compliments I've been getting too. I'm constantly asked if I've been working out and what exactly I've been doing because it's working! I can't remember a time in my life that I've had such strong positive feedback from a workout regimen and/or diet. As far as health and body are concerned, Crossfit has completely changed my life and I don't think I could have picked a better gym to have joined. Thanks again for all your help and support (especially in what can be an extremely intimidating environment).

Wow, what a difference a year makes! I can't thank Gina, Chad, Mike, Carlos, Alfredo and Melissa enough. I had no idea when I started how life-changing Crossfit could be. Now in my mid-thirties, I am more fit than I have ever been in my life! Thanks to you and all the other wonderful coaches! You all go above and beyond to help us out and to keep fitness and nutrition both fun and challenging. You all are always so positive and uplifting. I know there are many days when I show up to work and I don't want to be there, but with you all, you show up to work every day with the same great, positive, and patient attitude. After my first attempt at the CPAT (California Physical Ability Test) required for firefighter academy, I realized that if I ever wanted to become a firefighter I would have to do something more. I'd had a personal trainer at the globo gym for about 6 months, and not only was it expensive, but it just wasn't getting me to where I needed to be. Without CFLB and the wonderful coaches here, there is no way I would have passed my CPAT.

This is the best total body workout I have found. For the amount of time I put in per week, the results have been tremendous. I am some of the best shape of my life right now. I'm happier, healthier, more alert. The coaches here are great teachers and very patient, but they push you as well. They also give great recommendations on diet; mine has changed 180 degrees.

I love the workouts, but I really enjoy the fellow CrossFitters. No egos, and everyone is there to help each other. I have a ton more energy, and I just feel better about myself. You're the one that has to do the workout, nobody else does it for you. So it's a great sense of satisfaction when you complete one.
