Getting Started Just Got Easier.

Still with us? Excellent. Now let's get started. Whether you regularly run marathons, occasionally hit the gym, or get your exercise lifting your kids - we've got multiple paths to ease you into CrossFit. Our goal is to make sure you start strong, stay safe, work your way up to fitness level you want. And have a great time doing it.

By now you've probably figured out that CrossFit Long Beach is not your typical gym. Which means you won't be able to drop by and jump into any class. It also means you won't get accosted by a pushy sales guy armed with a clipboard. We're more interested in seeing our athletes succeed, than in selling memberships.

So if you're ready to get serious about getting fit, here's how to get started.

STEP 1: Sign Up For A Free Class

You're welcome to participate or merely observe. Either way, checking out a free class is a great way to see what CrossFit is all about - in a safe, non-judgmental and pressure-free environment. We have free classes every Saturday at 11:00AM. Must be at least 18 years old.

STEP 2:

Take The On-Ramp Course

This four-week course ramps you up and gets you ready for our group classes. Over the course of 12 On-Ramp sessions, your coaches will cover the basic techniques and movements, adjust workouts to your fitness level, and scale up to more challenging workouts as you and your fellow On-Rampers progress.

OR Schedule Private Training

Our CrossFit coaches are ready to work with you one-on-one to prepare you for challenging group classes. Your coach will help you build up your general fitness level, get familiar with the movements, go over your goals and the best way to get you there, customize workouts that both pace you and push you, and keep you motivated.

1-on-1 session rate -$75.00/hour. 2-1 session rate - $55.00 per person | Schedule a session now


STEP 3: Get In On Group Classes

Okay, now that you've completed and kicked butt in the On-Ramp course, you're ready for the most intense, energizing, sometimes agonizing yet still enjoyable group classes you've ever experienced. Led by our private coaches who get down there on the mat right next to you, our group classes are small, supportive, never the same, and always a blast. Must be at least 18 years old.

Do We Discount?

We've been known to discount, particularly for Police, Fire, EMT, active and reserve military, teachers, students, and family members living in the same household. If you're one of these, we'll work out a deal for you.

Getting Started/On-Ramp FAQ

We suggest joining in - or even just watching - a free class so you can get an idea of what CrossFit is all about. Then, once you've decided CrossFit is for you, sign up for the On-Ramp Course - 12 classes that equip you with a solid understanding of the CrossFit basics and moves. Or you can schedule private training for one-on-one preparation for the more challenging group classes. Visit our Getting Started page.

The On-Ramp Course is required for all new members before joining group classes - regardless of how fit you are. Run marathons every weekend? Got a tenth-degree black belt? Bench-press 18-wheelers for fun? Have a Batcave in your basement? Doesn't matter. If you don't know what a thruster is, or how to do a Tabata squat, or can't tell a Sumo Deadlift High Pull from a clean-and-jerk, then quit your bellyaching and just do the On-Ramp.

Trust us, you will get a punishingly satisfying workout each and every one of those 12 classes. Plus, you'll get a solid understanding of CrossFit techniques to make sure you stay safe and do it right.

One more thing: Because each On-Ramp class builds on the last, attendance for every class is must. You can make up missed classes with a private training session.

Probably. But if you want to try to "test" out of On-Ramp, you can pay for a one-hour private session with one of our coaches who will put you through the moves and a workout to evaluate your CrossFit preparedness. Your coach may decide you just need a few private coaching sessions to get you up to speed, or go ahead and advance you to the group classes.

It's critical that you attend all your On-Ramp classes, since they build on each other. But if you do miss a class, you can make it up with a private training session ($75 per session, discounts for groups).

If circumstances beyond your control force you to miss too many On-Ramp classes, and private training isn't an option, you can sign up for the next available On-Ramp Course at no extra cost. Sorry, no refunds.
