I played basketball on weekends, use to hit the gym everybody after my fitness class. Also, I took a couple of dance classes here and there. Furthermore, I've been trying to teach myself to surf. Free advice I learned the hard way, always start with a long board and not short board.

I got exposed to CrossFit through an article written in Men's Health magazine. After reading more on the article on what CrossFit  entailed, I was like, sign me up. So, I searched for CrossFit gym here in Long Beach and the search pulled up this gym. I don't quite remember what my first WOD was, other then being tough. However, when we redid the same WOD at the end of the on ramp program, the workout wasn't as tough as I had thought.

Well, I was at 225 when I joined Crossfit, but now I'm at 210. I am less sluggish then before and I credited that to the better diet I'm eating, due to CrossFit Long Beach. Although, I'm still fine tuning my diet here and there.

I can't say there were changes in my life that were totally unexpected from taking on CrossFit. I knew I had to change my diet, show up to the classes, and make time and effort for everything to be successful in crossfit.

I remember coming in on Friday night and thinking to myself, "Everybody else is getting ready to go out, hitting the bars, or resting. And I am here, at CrossFit working out, on a Friday night, Friday out of all days ... Man, I really must enjoy pushing my body to its limits."

My advice to people when they're just getting started is, you know when the water is cold in a pool or the ocean, and people tell you to dive right in the water instead of going in slowly. CrossFit is like that, there is no way around it, just show up, even when you don't want to, and power on through.

Basketball, surfing (trying to surf), and traveling are some of my interest.
