Don't really have much background in fitness. I played sports in high school, but thats about as far as that goes.
I wanted a change. I wasn't happy with my body and it was making me depressed. I heard about Crossfit from a couple people and was interested, so I googled it and found CFLB. My first workout was "chipper" and I remember reading over the workout and thinking, "ok yea, there is no way I'm going to be able to do this!" I finished the workout last, but was cheered on by my classmates. I think someone even got down and did my last couple burpees with me! It was the best feeling in the world to know I could do it.
I used to want to sleep ALL of the time. I could barely hold my daughter for 2 minutes before I would feel like my arms were going to fall off. I used to go jog/walk 1 mile in 13 minutes, once a week and consider that a "working out." Last week I ran 5 miles in 56 minutes. My fastest mile was 9 minutes and 30 seconds and I didn't stop the whole time. My endurance is out of control! I'm really impressed with the changes I've seen and so are my close friends and family.
My motivation in all areas of my life, has been whats most impressed me. I come from a rough background so just staying off the pole and out of jail were good enough for me. That might be a little dramatic, but I never really set many goals for myself. I was always scared to set my goals to high, because I knew I would fail. I've learned that accomplishing my goals, no matter how high I set them, is totally possible. Just takes some crazy ass work. haha.
My favorite moment has been finishing the "half murph." I know its just half the workout, but it was still crazy and I was sore for days. Another was finishing the 5K because I had never ran one before.
Be prepared to be surprised at what you are capable of.
Between work, school, CrossFit and being the best mommy in the world, I don't have a lot of free time. I'm pretty social, so I like to spend my down time catching up with friends.

Rest Day!
Please note: On Tuesday, July 17, we are hosting an event for CrossFit Affiliate Owners around the world. We will not be having a 9am, noon, 4:30pm or 5:30pm class on these days. If you regularly attend one of these classes and you're not able to hit your classes this week, talk to your coach. We'll give you a bonus class on another week. The 6:30pm, 7:30pm, and 8:30pm classes on these days will be All-Levels.
