Tell us about you sports & fitness background: I have played sports all my life including volleyball, basketball, softball, rowing, and soccer. I am in Edison High School Hall of Fame for Softball. I got serious about fitness in my thirties and completely changed my body shape. Since I got married we both have put on some happy pounds that we need to shed.
How did you first get exposed to CrossFit? Take us back to your first WOD... what was it, and how did it feel? My friend referred me to CFLB. We recently moved to Lakewood and I thought it would be a great motivater to get back into shape.
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health and fitness since starting CF? (before / after): I can tell I am getting stronger, but want to take it slow since I am a beginner.
Any advice for people just getting started? My advice would be "just get there". As long as you can just make it to the gym and get your days in you will benefit physically and mentally.
What are your hobbies, interests and/or talents outside of CrossFit? I love fishing! My mom is Canadian and we have a cabin on a gulf island near Vancouver where we go fishing every year. I sing in a band with my brother, husband and friends. My husband is from Colorado and we love to go hiking when we visit there.
